The Nurture Nest Approach
At Nurture Nest, we’ll be using a gentle, literature-based preschool curriculum designed to inspire a love of learning through engaging and meaningful stories. Each week will center around a carefully selected picture book, inviting children to explore its themes through music and movement, play-based narration, alphabet and number activities, motor skill development, and hands-on crafts. To extend the learning experience into the home, parents will receive optional at-home activities, including baking recipes and practical life skills exercises that encourage continued growth and connection.

Nurture Nest Preschool would be a great fit for your family if you are looking to incorporate multi-sensory, play-based learning while introducing them to timeless stories. Class sizes are kept small (5 children to 1 teacher) to ensure responsive relationships and customized learning experiences. We provide children with space, time, community, and an intentionally-curated environment in which they can learn and grow.

Class Option:

Monday & Wednesday class (9am-12pm)  $280/month
One-time Registration Fee $75
Yearly School Supply Fee $100
**Fees are due upon application in order to reserve your child's spot.

Our Daily Routine
We begin each day with Free Play in the main classroom. Children are invited to move freely about the space while collaborating with peers or engaging in parallel work. Our main classroom includes a community table for art or activities and snack time, a main play rug with a variety of open ended and dramatic play materials, as well as a reading area with a fully stocked bookshelf of beautiful literature for the children to get lost in.

During Free Play the children will be able to come and go between the main classroom and the Light Room as they desire. In the light room the children can work with light/shadows, sensory materials, and a variety of colorful translucent loose parts and open ended materials of their choosing.

As we near the end of Free Play, we transition to snack time by modeling the importance of putting our toys away. This helps children develop a sense of responsibility and prepare for the next activity of the day. The children then gather at the main community table where the children will enjoy a healthy, whole food snack while I read aloud one of our books for the week. Once everyone has finished their snack the children will work together as a team to put our dishes away and clean up. From there the children will grab a circle mat and gather on the main rug for circle time.

During circle time, we come together to read books, share conversation, to sing, and for story-telling. Circle time is the foundation of each day’s lessons. Each day, we will read the Book of the Week aloud, then bring the story to life by playing out the story using hand-painted watercolor Storytelling Pieces and any additional props from the Storytelling Basket. This early form of narration helps children develop the habit of attention, deepen their understanding of the story, practice language and sequencing skills, and build a foundation for both oral and written narration.

After circle time, the children will then head outdoors to play under the shade of our backyard trees. There, children have daily access to a tree house with rock wall and slide, a fully stocked and functioning mud kitchen, large open ended materials for building/construction play, digging tools and wheelbarrow, and plenty of open space to run and play. We use the outdoor space in all types of (safe) weather.
